The Design Process

Design Key Studio – Decorating Den Interiors brings residential design experience to our clients. We have a professional to fit every style and investment level. Equipped with a wide variety of products at our disposal, we meet your aesthetic and functional expectations without going overboard!

Step 1: 15 Minute Introductory Call

This is a great time for you to explain your space to Desiree. By learning more about you and your space we can get a better idea of the scope of the project. All future projects are very personal and always different so questions and requests are always welcome at this step.

Step 2: Touring the Space

Upon arrival a tour of the space and the general area is a requirement so we can see the wants and needs requested in the introductory call. We want to make sure you love your future space so this is a great time to point out items that might be staying or items that are definitely not. It’s ok if the space isn’t in the best shape, that’s why we are coming in, to make the future space amazing!

Step 3: Consultation

This process is preliminary. We will make a wish list in coordination with a budget proposal. Once a budget is agreed upon then a retainer of approximately 10% is taken to start the Design and Planning process. This retainer is used toward design time for the project, however this will be applied toward the final balance of the project upon completion.

Step 4: Design Plan & Presentation

This is a FUN experience with lots of excitement.

Desiree, who is a Licensed Interior Designer, cultivates different concepts for you within the agreed upon budget. These concepts are presented on a portable monitor so you can see the slide presentation in a larger format. Depending on the time, samples of all kinds are brought in so that you can touch and feel the products that you are selecting for the project.

All the ideas are presented as well as the final price point for the proposals.

Step 5: Ordering & Coordination of the Project

Once final selections are made a 70% deposit is given to start the ordering process. Desiree and her team will oversee all the coordination of the job so that you can enjoy your day to day life and not worry about the logistics of the project. We will send weekly updates on what the status of the items are and when we anticipate the project completion.

Step 6: Reveal Day!

This day is the most exciting for all involved!

We finally reveal all the weeks of coordination for the client to enjoy for a lifetime. Depending on the job it could be a little longer than a day if electrical or wallcovering for example are needed in advance of the other items being brought in. Clients love that they can relax and continue with the day to day and not worry about anything, we are there to simplify our experience and make it memorable.
