Where are you located?

Our design studio is based in Cooper City, FL however we travel to see all our clients in South East Florida.

 

Do I have to take off work in order to work with an interior designer?

We like to see clients during normal working hours. This is because we need to see your home in daylight hours to make the best choices in finishes and fabrics. Strong sunlight can damage fabrics within week so it’s important to see how your home works.

 

How does Design Key Studio work?

Starting with a single room is often a wonderful way to begin your design journey. It allows you to experience the process, understand how a professional designer works, and see how thoughtful planning and curated selections can transform a space. A single-room project also helps establish a design direction for the rest of your home, creating a foundation of colors, materials, and furnishings that can be carried into future rooms. Many clients find that once they see the impact of a beautifully designed space, it becomes easier and more exciting to continue the transformation throughout the home.

 

What happens on our first appointment?

During our first appointment, we begin with a tour of your home to understand the space and discuss the scope of work. We’ll also talk about your goals for the project and the level of investment you’re comfortable making. Once these details are clear, we establish a design fee based on the size and complexity of the project, with services starting at $1,500.

 

What does a typical project cost?

Each space is different and a “typical project cost” is difficult to determine sight unseen. It will depend on the size of the room, the level of quality you request, and so much more. That’s why it’s a good idea to think about the level of investment you will be comfortable with prior to meeting Desiree.

 

Will you work with my existing pieces?

Absolutely. We love incorporating pieces that hold special meaning for you. During the design process, we evaluate which existing items work well within the new plan and thoughtfully build around your favorites whenever possible. Our goal is to create a space that feels personal and cohesive, while ensuring the overall design works beautifully together — though in some cases, certain pieces may not fit the final vision.

 

Do you shop with me in stores?

We don’t typically shop in retail stores. Instead, sourcing and ordering are handled as part of our full-service design process. Design Key Studio works with a wide network of trusted vendors who partner exclusively with interior designers, giving us access to custom furnishings and unique pieces not available in retail settings. This allows us to curate distinctive designs and create a home that feels truly one-of-a-kind.

 

What’s the timeframe for delivery?

Depending on availability, shipping, and the scope of the project, most projects take 8–12 weeks to complete once final selections are approved. We’ll always keep you updated and handle all logistics along the way. While your furnishings are being crafted, we coordinate painting, wallpaper, and any other elements that need to be installed so everything is ready for the final installation and reveal.

 

Are items returnable?

Custom or special-order items are not returnable. We stand by our selections and ensure everything works together beautifully before you commit.
